Aiyuk’s statement regarding the 9ers discussing a trade for his services, is far from objective……in the context of the situation, it made complete sense for Adam Peters to contact John Lynch regarding trading for Aiyuk…why? Because as the former asst GM. Peter’s was aware of Aiyuks contract situation….aware of the 9ers potential salary cap issues relative to Brock Purdy’s upcoming mega contract….knew the 9ers were gonna need O line help thru the draft….had drafted a QB, and needed a front line vet WR to help the kids transition into the NFL and who better than Aiyuk who played at ASU with Daniels…of John Lynch didn’t listen to Peters, he wouldn’t be doing his job as GM and would be doing a disservice to the organization…but, just because he listened to Peters, and whoever else inquired, doesn’t mean that the 9ers don’t want to keep Aiyuk as a 9er…it means that John Lynch was doing daily business in the NFL
